Ears-
Cartlidge in a German shepherd’s ears is not fully formed for their first year.
They begin to stand around two or three months, and should be fully erect by five months or so.
Having tough things to chew on, dried meat or toys, helps develop the muscles in their jaws and strengthens the cartilage in their ears.
Always exercise caution when handling a young German shepherd‘s ears – avoid heavy tussling, etc. – to help keep them in their perfect upright condition.

Raw foods-
We supplement our dogs and puppies diets with raw meat, dairy products, and eggs. We find that added the protein and nutrients gives them more luxurious coats, and added muscle and bone strength.

Vet checks-
We have made every effort to ensure the health of our adult breeding stock. Not only were they purchased from healthy parents, they are regularly checked over by our veterinarian, and given all appropriate tests and preventative medicines with regards to common ailments , such asa heart health, communicable diseases, fleas and ticks, etc. Registration –
All of our breeding stock are AKC registered.
We register every litter and will provide you with the appropriate paperwork to transfer the puppy into your own name.
Puppies come with limited registration. Full registration, which includes breeding rights, and access to the AKC pedigree program, can be purchased for an additional fee.
Decisions about breeding rights, and level of registration, must be decided by the time of purchase.

Exercise-
While moderate exercise and training is essential for good health, over vigorous exercise within the first year of a puppies life can lead to permanent joint damage later on Puppies joints and cartilage are not fully developed for the first year and puppies must be treated accordingly.
Excess tussling or falling, jumping down from any height, or any other heavy impact can adversely affect your new puppy.

Transportation –
Puppies are available either for pick up on the ranch or delivery within a three hour radius, for a small fee. For out-of-state buyers, we have a trusted transporter that helps us get your new puppy to you.

Temperament –
Every litter had puppies of different personalities.
Some are more reactive, some more laid-back. Once you have decided to purchase a puppy from Rocking Diamond, we would love to help you figure out which one is perfect for your situation.

Colors-
Rocking Diamond specializes in German shepherds that are black and sable.
Most black German shepherds have a small white patch on their chest, although a small percentage are solid black.
Sables by nature have a lighter colored hair shaft with a black tip, giving them their unique, wolf-like appearance.
Sables darken and shift color as they age – very often not reaching their full color potential until they’re two years old.
